MVRC Champagne Stakes

The 2017 MVRC Champagne Stakes is a Group 3 race for thoroughbreds run at Moonee Valley Racecourse in late September during the annual Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

The 2017 MVRC Champagne Stakes will be held on Friday night, September 22.

Sharing the same name as the Group 1 juvenile’s feature held at Randwick in April, the Group 3 Champagne Stakes is open to three-year-old fillies only.

Run over a 1,200m sprint distance, the race is conducted under set weight conditions and offers $150,000 in prizemoney.

The Group 3 Champagne Stakes is held on a Friday night and is one of five Group races at the meeting, the other features being the Group 1 Moir Stakes (1200m), Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes (1600m), Group 2 Top Cut Stocks Stakes (1600m) and the Group 3 JRA Cup (2040m) all offering exciting betting markets for punters.
