Miss Stellabelle, a 3-year-old filly trained by Mark Kavanagh, has caused an upset to win the Group 3 Champagne Stakes 2011 at Moonee Valley on Manikato Stakes Night.
Linning up in the nine horse field for their fourth career start, Miss Stellabella claimed victory in the 1200m race for three-year-old fillies from more fancied opposition including race favourite Emerald Downs (4th), Satin Shoes (7th) and Glissade (8th).
Paying $11 for the win at Luxbet, Miss Stellabelle won the Champagne Stakes 2011 by 1 1/2 lengths from Platelet, with Miss Zoom 4 lengths back in third.
